What is an "MJE"?

The MJE stands for Mission Jeunes Experts, which means Mission of junior expertise performed at the end of our engineering school cycle.

This mission involves a planned and prepared expertise added with the support of teachers researchers and of the pedagogical team. Our work divide itself in 3 parts: It consists on defining and preparing ahead of time our project on a time period of 16 months. Thereafter, we will go on the field for 1 month or 2 and lastly, we will analyze the connected data. Thus, we will be able to write out a report.

We are a group of 10 students working on a subject of common interest: Urban agriculture. Our team composed by autonomous and multi-skilled future engineers proposes to public and private organisms to carry out a social, economic or environmental study of a project. By seeking to establish itself in a specific context, a feasibility study could be a type of work that we can provide.

Our school, ISTOM

ISTOM is an engineering school specialized in international agro-development. Its training claims to be interdisciplinary and its teaching addresses development problems, crossing subjects such as social, economic and agronomic sciences.

This interdisciplinarity is developed in the teachings but also in the missions carried out in the field with a total of 16 months of internships abroad. This enables us to master and apply a range of tools and methods such as management and monitoring/evaluation of project.

These teachings enable the engineers of ISTOM to understand the contexts and issues of developing countries in order to carry out missions and projects in emerging countries. With nearly 2500 former students working in more than 114 countries, ISTOM is well-known for training engineers who are involved and who can easily adapt themselves.
